eShopWorld was today named Technology Ireland Company of the Year at the annual Technology Ireland Awards at the Mansion House, Dublin. The event was sponsored by Bank of Ireland, ByrneWallace, IDA Ireland and Enterprise Ireland.
eShopWorld, an Irish eCommerce solutions company that enables brands to sell efficiently into international markets, is the global eCommerce partner to some of the world’s most iconic brands.
Presenting the Award, Technology Ireland Director Paul Sweetman said: “Established 6 years ago, eShopWorld now employs 180 people and has a turnover of more than €200 million. The company’s mission is to empower online retailers to succeed globally, by delivering a seamless and globalised shopping experience that enhances their customers’ brand. The company also announced plans to create a further 250 jobs over the next three years, mostly based in their Global Headquarters in Swords, North Dublin”.
Joe Hogan, business leader, technology enthusiast, co - founder and CTO of Openet was named Technology Ireland Person of the Year 2017. Joe is a stalwart not just of the technology sector, but of the entire business community. He has founded, built and scaled one of the most successful software technology companies in Ireland that is a global leader.
Joe is highly respected by his peers and customers alike. His business achievements are remarkable. Building the company he co-founded from scratch, the organisation now employs over 1,000 people worldwide. He himself is the cited inventor of over a dozen US patents and is a previous recipient of both the Irish EY Entrepreneur of the Year and the European Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.
Beyond business, Joe is a tireless supporter and advocate for the deployment of the next generation of technologists and business leaders. He a driver behind Coder Dojo and Coolest Projects, has served on the board of the Government’s Springboard jobs initiative and Digital Strategy for Schools and has been the leader - working behind the scenes - in ensuring Ireland becomes part of the European Southern Observatory.
